Job Description

This position supervises the day-to-day activities of security personnel and performs evaluative and administrative duties to monitor the shift operation that contributes to the satisfactory motivation and morale of assigned employees. This position contributes to a safe and secure work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implements and coordinates daily security shift operation, including development and execution of daily and weekly work and break schedules, assigning security personnel to specific locations (posts) throughout the gaming facilities to provide adequate security coverage and ensuring the safety and security of the facilities, grounds, employees and patrons.
  • Implements and instructs security personnel on departmental and enterprise policies and procedures and conducts employee evaluations, disciplinary review and follow-up.
  • Conducts frequent security uniform and equipment inspections, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts (day,swing, grave) on an occasionally erratic schedule.
  • Maintains files and records on security personnel as well as monitoring and implementing in service departmental training. 
  • Ensures that facilities are safe from fire, theft, burglary, robbery, assaults and other such events that may threaten the well-being of the business, property, employees, and patrons.  
  • Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness.
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises multiple numbers of security officers and personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.  

Skills / Requirements

  • HS Diploma or a GED and/or two or more years of related education and experience, preferably in the security and law enforcement fields.
  • Knowledge and skills and applying and enforcing all applicable departmental and enterprise policies and procedures to all employees and patrons. Evaluates security officers work processes as well as assists the shift supervisor with security personnel quarterly and annual performance evaluations.
  • Knowledge and skills in coordinating security personnel in-service training, utilizing appropriate procedures as well applying shift flexibility to maintain a continuous in-service training.     
  • Must possess a valid AZ drivers license with clean driving record for the past five (5) years.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol test and agree to maintain a Drug-Free Workplace as a condition of employment. Must pass a full background check to be certified/licensed prior to employment.  Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
